Our Neighborhood

A river-bend community on the northeast side of Fort Wayne.

Concordia Gardens has been a neighborhood since the late 1950s. The name predates the community association by decades — what's changed is how we keep in touch with each other.

Where we are

The neighborhood sits in the 46825 ZIP code, tucked between I-69 to the west and the St. Joseph River to the east, about six miles north of downtown Fort Wayne. From most homes you can be downtown in twelve minutes or on the river trail in two.

Mabel K. Holland Elementary anchors the southwest corner of the neighborhood, with a pedestrian overpass crossing N. Clinton Street so kids can walk to school without touching traffic. That overpass is one of the small details that makes the neighborhood feel like itself.

How the neighborhood is organized

The Concordia Gardens Community Association is a volunteer board elected by member households. The board handles the things that don't handle themselves: trash and water coordination, the common-area playground, the spring street cleanup, the monthly newsletter, and the budget that pays for all of it.

Membership is open to every household in the neighborhood. Annual dues fund the things the association does on the neighborhood's behalf, and the dues ledger is visible to members in the portal so there's no mystery about where money goes.

What's already here

  • The newsletter — published monthly, archived going back several years.
  • The Facebook group — 419 members, active, the de facto chat thread for the neighborhood.
  • The board roster — five elected roles, each with its own contact email so messages reach the right person.
  • This site — public-facing pages anyone can read; member portal behind a sign-in for dues, documents, events, and the message board.

What this site does

Public pages tell anyone who lands here who we are and how to reach us. The member portal keeps the running pieces of neighborhood life — events, dues, documents, newsletter archive, and a moderated message board — in one place that's easier than a folder of PDFs.

Times and dates on the site use Eastern Time (Indiana observes DST), so a meeting noted for 7:00 PM is 7:00 PM the way you say it on the phone.

A note about this preview

This site is a working demo of what the public side of concordiagardens.org will look like once the neighborhood association moves off the legacy template. The portal shown elsewhere on the site is a visual mockup; sign-in, dues, and the message board activate once the build is approved.
